This citrusy whipped-yogurt topping adds creaminess to any dish.

High in calcium, labneh is a whipped yogurt with a cream cheese-like consistency. “You can mix in different herbs, or make a sweet version with honey or maple syrup,” says Marissa Lippert, RD, a New York City-based nutritionist and owner of Nourish Baby, a food-delivery service for parents and newborns.

  • 2 cups whole milk Greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon minced chives
  • Zest of 1/2 lemon

  1. Transfer yogurt into cheesecloth and gather sides to a tight closure so that there are no openings. Hang cheesecloth over a bowl or container to allow liquid whey to drain.
  2. Refrigerate overnight. Stir in chives and lemon zest. Transfer to airtight container and store in refrigerator for up to 1 month.
