Celebrity playlist: Devin Dawson

Why the popular country star doesn’t limit his workout music to one genre

A native of northern California, Devin Dawson began his career in a hard rock band. His passion for country music, though, led him to move to Nashville. After gaining notoriety via a YouTube hit, he released his debut album, Dark Horse, featuring hits such as "All on Me." Most recently, the singer-songwriter opened for Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.

Despite his chaotic schedule, the 29-year-old stays in excellent shape thanks to a steady battery of sweat-inducing tracks. "Sure, you might think the hypest, quickest, meanest songs are a strong shoe-in for a well-crafted workout playlist, but for me that’s not always the case,” says Dawson. "I crank my fair share of pumped-up pop smashes, but sometimes the thinkers can sculpt not just your body, but also your mind at the same time."

Here, he shares his favorite tracks to listen to while exercising.
