“Acne may contribute to a decreased self-esteem and feelings of worthlessness, which for some, can progress to a full clinical depression,” says study author Isabelle Vallerand, Ph.D., epidemiologist at the University of Calgary’s Cumming School of Medicine in Alberta, Canada.
