This recipe gets sweet, anise-like flavor thanks to fennel.
“When frozen and added to smoothies, avocado yields a creamy, thick texture not unlike banana, but without the sugar,” says New York City-based recipe developer Julia Gartland. The fresh ginger also helps boost digestion.

- ½ avocado, frozen
- 1 heaping cup frozen pineapple cubes
- ½ cup chopped fennel, frozen
- 1½ inch piece of ginger, diced
- 2 tablespoons hemp seeds
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 1½ cup cashew-macadamia milk
- Fresh mint leaves
- Coconut flakes
- Hemp seeds
Add the first six ingredients into a freezer bag or glass jar and store in the freezer. Store the milk separately in the fridge.
In a high-powered blender, add all ingredients and blend for 45 seconds or until very smooth. Garnish with toppings as desired and serve immediately.
