Ultimate Green Smoothie

Hint: you should freeze your banana.

“Every athlete should have this recipe in their repertoire for a healthy, refreshing breakfast or post-workout refuel,” says Lisa Hayim, RD, a New York City-based nutritionist and founder of The Well Necessities. Pro tip: using frozen fruit helps give the drink a thicker, creamier texture.

  • ½ cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • 1 cup fresh spinach
  • 1 banana, preferably frozen
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter


  1. Place all ingredients in a high-powered blender and blend until smooth.

  2. Pour into a glass with a lid and store in refrigerator until ready to be consumed.
