My Healthy: Megan Hilty
On the heels of her recent Tony nomination, the Broadway star shares the essential items for her healthy lifestyle.
In the recent Broadway comedy, Noises Off, Megan Hilty didn't wear much more than a pink festooned bustier. Having to wear the lingerie in front of audiences and run around the stage (hilariously, we might add) six nights a week was motivation enough for Hilty to stay in shape. Her hard work paid off: The show recently earned a slew of Tony nominations including Best Featured Actress for Hilty. The star is also keeping busy this spring and summer: She just appeared in the final episodes of The Good Wife, is slated to guest star in the next season of Difficult People, as well as the new CBS summer series Braindead. She also released a new album, Megan Hilty Live at the Café Carlyle, and is embarking on a concert tour around the US and Australia. In order to maintain such a hectic schedule—and stay healthy—Hilty relies on these essentials:
Nespresso Inissia Espresso Maker, $100
"Since I have a one-year-old, I don't get much sleep anymore. I'll take all the help I can get—which means a lot of coffee—to gear up for a workout."
Vitamix Professional Series 200 Blender, $440
"I use my Vitamix to make my protein shakes. I'll throw in a bunch of kale or spinach to get more greens in for the day."
Trigger Point 26" The GRID 2.0 Foam Roller, $70
"After a busy day, I love to stretch out."
Zoli Water Bottle, $12
"My daughter uses a lot of Zoli products, and when I saw they had an adult water bottle I had to have one, too."
Vega Sport Chocolate performance protein, $27.50
"This is my main recovery drink after workouts."
Herban Essentials Towlettes, $16
"I use these to wipe down my yoga mat, my hands, and workout equipment. They smell amazing and they are anti-bacterial."
Yoga Toes, $40
"These are my secret weapon against bunions, hammer toes, and general foot discomfort."
Thule Urban Glide Stroller, $399
"I live right next to Central Park, so I pack up the baby, grab the dog and go running outside. This stroller helps make it easy! I get a workout, the dog gets a workout, and my daughter gets...fresh air in a comfortable ride."
Dr. Bronner's Coconut Oil, $12
"I believe there are so many health benefits from using coconut oil. One—kind of weird—way that I use it is with a spoonful in my morning coffee. It tastes delicious and the healthy fat keeps me feeling full so I don't end up eating too much. Coconut oil also doubles as a great makeup remover!"
Goddess Garden SUNSCREEN, $22
"I'm very pale, so sunscreen is a must. I love Goddess Green because it's organic and it feels light on my skin."
