Unzipped: Rubin Singer
The fashion designer gives us a peek inside his gym bag.
Rubin Singer has been on a roll these past few years. One major highlight was in 2013 when the New York City-based fashion designer created Beyoncé's Super Bowl outfit for her first headlining half time performance (the costume is now on display at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame). And Singer's designs have pretty much been staples on the red carpet ever since. Heidi Klum and Lucy Liu are fans of his eveningwear; Tracee Ellis Ross wore on of his dresses at the recent NAACP Image Awards.
As part of New York Fashion Week, Singer is debuting his Fall 2016 collection this week. And even though it's a busy few days for designers, Singer still makes time to sneak in a workout or two. Here's what he brings to the gym:
Y-3 BLACK GYM BAG, $350
"I love this bag because it looks great, takes a beating, and fits everything I need."
Athletic Propulsion Labs sneakers, $150
"These neon shoes are the most lightweight and comfortable sneakers I've ever worked out in."
Penhaligon's Bayolea deodorant, $30
"This deodorant stick smells great, and works great after a tough workout."
David Kirsch Muscle Restore Powder, $45
"I always drink these after an intense weight training session to restore electrolytes and build muscle."
Bose SoundSport in-ear headphones, $130
"I always use these head phones. The right music always pushes me through my workout, and these always stay in my ears. They're super comfortable and feature a great sound."
